Lightlike

Latest development build of Lightlike. The aim for this release is to share and get feedback about the game controls. They should be in good shape to be tested, although important work is still missing on the camera.

I'd love to hear any feedback about the game.

Usage:

  • Controller (recommended): Use the left stick to move. Button A to grab things and interact with objects. Right shoulder button (RB) to activate slow motion.
  • Keyboard: arrow-keys to move and Ctrl key to grab/interact. Shift key to activate slow motion. Esc and Enter keys to open and interact with the menus.
  • Mouse (not recommended): left-click & drag on the left hand side of the screen to expose the virtual joystick and move the robot. Right-click to grab things. Center-click to activate slow motion.
  • Touchscreen (not recommended):  touch and drag on the left hand side of the screen to expose the virtual joystick. Touch on the right hand side of the screen to expose the virtual buttons. Touch the upper/central part of the screen to open the menu.

Known issues:

  • Still minimal amount of content. One minute of gameplay or so.
  • It is possible to trap the robot inside doors while they move. That's due to some code I haven't implemented.
  • Graphics sucks. Lighting is not fully implemented, shadows are missing or wrong. All levels look the same.
  • The camera isn't great at following the player.

  • 2.2 drop (9 June 2025): fixed animations, added fade-in/fade-out transitions
  • 2.1 drop (5 Jun 2025): fixed notes and improved intro animations
  • 2.0 drop (30 May 2025): first drop where the game is actually playable.
